An Introduction to Cambridge

A veritable treasure trove awaits your investigation in Cambridge City, which is best explored on foot, or you may wish to use a bicycle as the "locals" do! There are two guided walking tours. One is the Christian Heritage walk. The Tourist Office organise a series of walks (eg Cambridge Ghost Walk) and you can explore these by clicking here.

Most of the colleges of Cambridge University and the main tourist attractions such as the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Botanic Gardens are located in the heart of the city, as are the social amenity centres such as the Corn Exchange, the Tourist Information Centre and the main shops. It is 10 minutes walk from El Shaddai through common land to the University boat houses; and in the opposite direction through the city centre to "the Backs" of the colleges where punting on the River Cam is a popular relaxation. If you would like a swim or a visit to a health suite for a sauna etc. then you could visit the Parkside swimming pool, only a 5 minute walk from El Shaddai. Also nearby is the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre.

The Grafton Centre shopping mall includes amongst its attractions a number of restuarants and nationally known department stores, and an eight screen cinema. Also in Cambridge the Cambridge Leisure Park with a nine screen Cineworld cinema

If you are loooking for longer term rented accommodation, or to buy a home in Cambridge then you could look at the current copy of The Cambridge Evening News.
